What is a biological tooth extraction?

FOR DR.ROZE BIOHEALTH CLINICS | 16.09.2022

Tooth extractions are necessary to remove non-restorable or infected teeth from the oral cavity. It is important to know about the periodontal ligament that experiences destruction from periodontal abscesses, as well as the supporting bone structure.

This is why a biological extraction is important. During the extraction procedure, our Doctors will remove all diseased tissues along with the non-restorable tooth.

1/- What is the difference between a conventional and a biological tooth extraction?

  • The outstanding difference in a tooth extraction lies in the education of removing surrounding diseased tissues, if left in tact, it will only slow or inhibit total healing.
  • Unresolved infections lead to chronic degenerative diseases throughout the body, depressing the immune system.
  • The intensity of a tooth extraction is unpredictable; mentor-ships, education, and experiences guide the doctors in the oral surgery process to ensure the patient is properly cared for.
  • Patients will be provided cold laser treatment in the chair to increase successful healing, along with home care instructions and the comfort healing protocol.

2/- Why do we lose a tooth?

  • Infection: extensively decayed tooth that is infected and can not be restored due to amount of damage.
  • Fracture: extensive fracture that can not be repaired with any type of dental restoration.

3/- What is the procedure for a biological extraction?

  • Diseased, infected, and/or inflamed tooth is removed with atraumatic minimally-invasive techniques.
  • Tooth socket, or extraction site, is thoroughly cleaned of infected tissue and debris from extraction.
  • Periodontal ligament is removed to promote proper bone healing.
  • Blood clot formed in socket and instructions given for care extraction site following procedure.

Optional additions to the above procedure:

  • Ozone is used in area around the extracted tooth to disinfect and promote healing.
  • Biological Homeopathic remedies are injected in the tissues around the extraction.
  • Ozonated Olive Oil for post-procedure healing at home.
  • Homeopathic options for pain and inflammation control

4/- What are the precautions to take after a biological extraction?

  • If you have a biological dentist, make sure you do Ozone therapy after extraction to remove infection, speed healing, and reduced inflammation. If PRP is an option, take it.
  • Do NOT attempt to talk for at least 4 hours. It will interfere with blood clotting.
  • Make sure your surgeon gives you gauze, or have it on hand —you’ll need alot the first day Ice area for 24 hours, off and on
  • After 12 hours, begin salt water rinse after each meal (I just did baby food in the pouches)
  • Sleep elevated for 48 hours
  • Avoid straws, swishing, and mouthwash
