Whether you’re a seasoned dental patient or preparing for your first visit, having a comprehensive checklist can help streamline your appointment process and maximize its effectiveness.

We’ve designed this handy checklist to equip you with the essential steps and considerations to make your dental appointment a seamless and enjoyable experience. We’ve covered it all, from pre-appointment preparations to appointment follow-ups!

Before your dental appointment

Before your appointment
1. Confirm your appointment

You’ll receive an automated confirmation message from us via WhatsApp the day before your appointment. Please take the time to respond, and either confirm or reschedule your appointment.

We understand that life can get hectic, but if you know you won’t be able to make it, just let us know…no hard feelings! You may open up the time slot for someone else who may really need it.

Along with confirming, if you are new to Dr. Roze BioDental Clinic, please make sure you complete the registration form and upload a copy of your ID. Completing this before your appointment will reduce your waiting time the day of.

2. Update your information

Make sure your information is up to date before arriving to your appointment.

  • Are you still with the same insurance as your last visit? If not, give us a call or send us a message to let us know so we can prepare the correct insurance documents for you.
  • Have there been major changes in your medical history? Let us know so that we can update and inform your doctor.

3. Send us your medical file

If you are transferring or being referred to us from another clinic, please share your medical file and imagery prior to your appointment. This will allow our specialists to best prepare for your appointment and consult with your practioner for any questions they may have about your case. You can send your file or x-rays to [email protected] or via WhatsApp.

4. Prepare your comfort items

For our younger patients, or patients with dental phobia, be sure to prepare your comfort items to keep you calm and stress-free at your appointment. This could include plush toys, a fidget gadget, or even headphones to help keep you in the zone. If this is your child’s first visit with us, tell us about their favorite cartoon, movie, or anything else that the doctor can bond over with them.

5. Arrive on time

Everyone’s time is valuable — your time, the doctor’s time, and other patients’ time. Please make an effort to arrive on time (or earlier if you haven’t completed your registration form) for your appointment. This shows respect to your specialist and limits waiting time for following patients.

During your consultation

1. Be honest

Honesty lays the foundation for trust and open communication between you and your doctor. When you’re truthful about your health, your doctor can better understand your needs and concerns, leading to a more collaborative and effective patient-physician relationship. Remember, we are here to help and this is a judgement-free, safe space.

2. Ask questions

Asking questions fosters open communication, ensuring you understand your dental health and treatment options. This empowers you to make informed decisions, strengthens the patient-dentist relationship, and promotes personalized care tailored to your needs.

3. Communicate any discomfort

Let your specialists know if you feel any discomfort during your treatment. Your safety and wellbeing comes first, don’t be afraid to speak up. This will allow your dentist or hygienist to address issues promptly, and fosters trust and collaboration, leading to a more positive experience overall.

4. Practice good breathing

We understand that dental visits (or any medical appointment) can be stressful. Though you’re always in great hands at Dr. Roze BioDental Clinic, remember to practice good breathing to help you relax. We recommend practicing box breathing, or square breathing, to help calm your nervous system and decrease phsyical and emotional stress.

After your appointment

1. Schedule your next appointment before you go

Don’t forget to schedule any follow-up appointments or your 6-month check-up and cleaning on your way out. This will ensure you won’t forget to book once you’re home (hello mental load!), and planning ahead will also increase your chances of having your preferred date and time available to book.

2. Restock on ROZE BioHealth toothpaste

Try or grab a refill of your ROZE BioHealth toothpaste. We have two flavors, mint and vanilla, available for purchase at both of our branches.

3. Share your feedback

We’re always looking for feedback from our patients…it’s the only we can improve! We would love to hear your thoughts about our practioners, treatments, or overall experience at Dr. Roze BioDental Clinic. You can do so here.

4. Report any pain or discomfort immediately

Depending on your treatment, it may be normal to feel some sensitivity following your appointment. If you feel any pain or discomfort, or experience symptoms such as fever, swelling, or throbbing pain, please give us a call immediately.
