Sandra Serrano is an integrative physiotherapist with over 15 years of experience, with a background in physiotherapy, osteopathy and clinical sports nutrition, alongside specialised training in the gut microbiome, vagus nerve, nervous and sensory systems, and Clinical Pilates. Working with both adults and children, her approach brings these disciplines together to understand the body as an interconnected system rather than focusing on symptoms in isolation.
Sandra works with people whose bodies may be responding in ways that no longer seem to match where their symptoms appear. Her approach is integrative and global, assessing the nervous system, sensory processing, lymphatic function, movement, digestion, inflammation, hormonal influences and emotional load together to identify the factors that may be contributing to persistent symptoms.
Her philosophy is simple: treatment should not stop at where it hurts. Pain, recurring injuries, inflammation, hypersensitivity and other persistent symptoms can be signals of a wider imbalance or difficulty in the way the body is regulating and adapting. Through a comprehensive evaluation, Sandra looks beyond the symptomatic area to understand which systems may be involved and what may be preventing the body from responding effectively.
She works with patients experiencing persistent or recurring pain, injuries that have not responded as expected to rehabilitation, chronic inflammation, fatigue, sensory overload, migraines, vertigo, tinnitus and physical symptoms associated with stress or nervous-system dysregulation. She also supports patients whose physical symptoms coexist with digestive concerns, hormonal changes, inflammatory or autoimmune conditions, always considering these within the wider clinical picture.
While every patient and condition is different, apparently unrelated symptoms can sometimes share contributing patterns involving the central and autonomic nervous systems. When the nervous system remains highly reactive, the body’s ability to regulate sensory input, movement, recovery and adaptation may be affected. Identifying these patterns forms an important part of Sandra’s assessment and personalised treatment approach.
Her goal is not simply short-term symptom relief, but to improve how the nervous, sensory, lymphatic, inflammatory and movement systems respond and interact. Rather than applying multiple techniques without a clear purpose, Sandra focuses on understanding why the body is not responding as expected and selecting the most appropriate intervention based on each person’s assessment and response.
For Sandra, when a body has struggled to improve, the question is not only where the symptom is located, but what may be preventing the body from regulating, adapting and recovering effectively. Her work focuses on identifying these barriers and helping create the conditions the body needs to function and respond more effectively again.
Sandra has developed a structured 5-week Bio-Integrative Physio Protocol designed to explore these contributing factors from a whole-body perspective. Beginning with a comprehensive assessment, the protocol uses personalised interventions to support nervous-system regulation, sensory processing, lymphatic function, movement and recovery, with the aim of creating meaningful and sustainable improvement over time.
Sandra believes that modern physiotherapy can go beyond muscles and joints. By integrating physiotherapy, osteopathy, clinical nutrition, nervous-system regulation, sensory processing, lymphatic health and therapeutic movement, her approach is personalised and precise, with one central objective: to understand what each person’s body needs and apply the right intervention at the right time.
