Teeth can emerge between 3 to 24 months of age. Typically, the two bottom front teeth break through first, followed by the top two front teeth. Teething pain may occur even before the visible emergence of a tooth, due to the pressure of the tooth pushing against the gum in preparation for eruption.
How do you know your baby is teething, most common signs :
- Drooling
- Ear pulling
- Putting things in their mouth

Also, you will notice you baby might want to nurse more since it is so soothing them to. If your baby is latched properly then no biting should be able to occur. - Massaging sore gums can help. Take your clean finger and just massage the area gentle. A cool washcloth or even a frozen washcloth can feel wonderful on your baby’s irritated gums
- Offer Chilled Food – Many babies don’t want to eat much while they’re teething, and since cold feels good on swollen gums, chilled food may help. Be sure to choose only healthy foods, such as soft frozen fruits if your baby is already eating solid food.
- Babies need to bite or chew to cut teeth. Having a teething toy or wearing a teething necklace will help your little one get through the teething process.
